I would love to  share with you my life journey and experiences that led to the birth of She's Fabulous Hair.

I, Jalisa Thompson owner and founder of She's Fabulous Hair was born and raised in Jamaica Queens, New York City. Growing up in Queens, New York I was always in a hair salon environment watching beauticians in routine as professional hairstylist. My mother was a women who stayed in a hair salon every two weeks and always had a new do. It was very inspiring and I loved how pretty it was and how creative and unique.

I was about 5 or 6 years old when I told myself I wanted to be a hairstylist and do pretty hair on people and make them feel great about themselves. For my 9th birthday my grandmother gifted me my very own mannequin head. From there on I was practicing and letting my imagination come to life.

At 13 years old I was a senior in Junior High School getting prepared for High School. There was one High School I really wanted to go to, Queens Vocational High School that offered cosmetology classes for students, sadly I was denied. I ended up attending W.H Maxwell Career and Technical Education High School in East New York, Brooklyn which also offered cosmetology classes.

Studying cosmetology in High School was so cool that was the best part about it. It was real official classes from written book work to hands on training. We would annually have hair shows (Christmas theme) and made objects like candy canes, ginger bread house, snow globes, Christmas trees all out of hair. It would be challenging but would be so worth it at the end. In high school I started to become creative with my own hair at 15 and was doing different hair colors and extensions.

I learned how to make my own wig at 16. I began coloring and making wigs for myself. The girls would always ask where I would get my hair from; I was the person any friend or female would go to to put them on to some good quality hair. I was inspired by Hair so Fab, Kendrasboutique, A-List lace Hair, and so many more hair companies.

In June of 2019 I officially graduated from high school/ cosmetology school and life hit quick. Being fresh out of high school was definitely challenging trying to figure out my life and where do I go. I was unlicensed and struggled to get a job. In the beginning of 2020 I enrolled in college and within 2 months my college experience has ended due to COVID-19. I was devastated. The world had to quarantine, businesses and schools had shut down. I was 18 years old I wasn't in college, I was unlicensed, I didn't have a job, and I was no longer living at home and was sleeping on a couch every night.

One day I was on my phone on social media browsing and I thought instantly "why not sell hair yourself since people already come to you to help them find great hair. From there on I began brainstorming. Instead of being a local hairstylist why not sell quality and ship all over the world for other beauticians and people worldwide.

With proper research, study, and knowledge in April of 2022 I officially launched She's Fabulous Hair and October of 2022 I officially became a licensed cosmetologist.
